Success stories: Amy's story

Amy came on to Blueprint as she was looking for something to occupy her whilst she was recovering from a period in hospital. Amy had been diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder and had been forced to give up work when she became unwell.

Amy joined our computer course, gradually building up her hours until she was studying for 10 hours each week. During this time she regained much of her lost confidence, made some new friends and began to join in with some of the other activities that were offered to her.

At the end of the course, Amy had completed all of the modules in ECDL and obtained the full qualification. Although still not ready to go back into full time work, Amy felt she wanted to do something part time which she would build up over time with the aim of returning to full time work eventually.

With the help of the Blueprint mentor, Amy found a job she liked and we supported her through the application and interview process. Amy was successful in getting the job and now only occasionally calls in for support when she feels things are getting on top of her.
