Frequently asked questions

Can people self refer to Our Celebration?

We prefer for all referrals to be made via a health professional such as a Doctor or CPN in order for us to be able to carry out risk assessments and be work as part of a team providing support. We will only consider self referrals in exceptional circumstances.

How do I refer somebody to OC?

We have a standard referral form that is available in paper format or downloadable from our Policy and Procedures page. Following receipt of the referral, an assessment will be carried out and an initial interview arranged so that prospective service users can get a better understanding of what we do. If there is a waiting list for the chosen activity we usually encourage people to attend our social and leisure clubs in the meantime.

Do I have to pay anything to attend?

All day to day activities at Our Celebration are free to service users. We are able to do this due to the support of our funders and ongoing fundraising by the trustees and staff.
Occasionally, the leisure club may have trips to the cinema or theatre that require service users to contribute towards the cost.

Will OC pay my travel expenses to attend?

OC does not pay for travel expenses. If attendance at OC is part of a care or recovery plan then help towards travel expenses may be available via the recovery or social services.

How long can I stay at OC for?

This is always dependent upon individual need. Some people stay with us for a few weeks, other for many years. We work to encourage all service users to develop and progress and expect that in time, everybody who joins Our Celebration will move on into other activities.

Can I bring my friends / family in to see what OC does?

We are always happy to welcome visitors to Our Celebration and are happy to show them around and keep them up to date with our activities.

How do I find your building?

We are based on Highcliffe Court in Clifton Green which is directly opposite the Old Grey Mare pub. See the Find Us page for a map.

Is parking available?

There is limited parking on Highcliffe Court. Additional parking is usually available on Abbey Street, the next road along heading out of town.

Can I buy some more of the products that you made in the past?

Our product ranges change each year. If you would like to purchase anything that has been made in previous years, or have a specific request please contact us and we will do our best to fulfil your order.
