Our Celebration

Care when it counts... Supporting recovery from mental ill health

In the UK someone takes their own life every 90 minutes

Information Line

Our service is open to anyone in York and the surrounding district. We can provide information on such issues as mental illness and distress, treatment and medication options, local support groups and specialist agencies. You can call us for information and support for your own mental health needs, or if you are concerned about a friend or relative.

We know that it can be difficult to take the first step and ask for help or advice. Our information service staff will help you to work out what your options are and what help or information is most appropriate for you. For some people an internal referral will be suitable either to our counselling service or the York Mind Advocacy Project. We can also help you access other suitable services and support groups.

Our information resources include Mind's award winning booklets on a range of mental health issues - a selection of these is included on this site (follow the links on this page). We also have information on other organisations both locally and nationally and can research any mental health issue further in response to callers' queries.

Our information service is currently open Weekdays Monday to Friday, 1pm to 4.30pm. Telephone: (01904) 647349 (answerphone outside opening hours)
