Our Celebration

8 Fantastic runners!

Ok so here they are!  These are the eight people who will be running in the York 10K Race on Sunday August 1st  Please give them all your support, and if you can make a donation – even better!

Peter Gorbert .   Pete is the Service Development manager at Our Celebration, and despite his tender years (he is only 24!) he confidently predicts he will finish last – in the entire field. We suspect he’s sandbagging!   Sponsor Pete here

Jane Wilson.  Jane is far better prepared –  we’ve heard that she’s been in training for quite some time, and looks a favourite to finish near the front of the OC runners!  Jane has a close connection with the work we do here, and has been a long standing supporter of Our Celebration.  Jane says:-   “OC is unique;  it plays a huge part in recovery and without it I don't believe progress would be anything like as good. We are so lucky to have such an organisation….they need as much help as we can give them to make sure it continues and provides this very vital support.”  Good luck Jane!   Sponsor Jane here

Ian Savage.  Ian is the Fundraising Officer here at Our Celebration, and has many talents – sadly running is probably not one of them.  He claims he will be happy just to finish, and that he has a fridge full of beer to recouperate with!   Sponsor Ian here

James Savage.  James is Ian’s son, and his mission is to beat his Dad, and raise more money than him.  At 17 years old, the former should be a formality, and he should have more than enough “Facebook” friends to beat him on the fundraising too!  Good luck James!    Sponsor James here

John Coleson.  Wine and Cricket seem to be John’s favourite activities, but we reckon that despite his advancing years he will be a bit of a dark horse.  John is known to have participated in several similar events, and could be the one to watch!  Sponsor John here

Dan Croxen-John.  Dan is a well known local businessman and also a trustee of Our Celebration.  Having run the Virgin London Marathon earlier this year, a mere 10k should be no more than a warm-up for a young, fit chap like Dan.  Please contact us here if you’d like to sponsor Dan

David and Kate Gedddes. David is a well-known York GP with an interest in mental health issues, and Kate is his good lady wife.  David is also an Our Celebration trustee, so presumably he will be itching to beat Dan, but we reckon Kate will put them both to shame!    Please contact us here if you’d like to sponsor David or Kate.
