York Mind is always looking to include new activites at the centre, so if you have skills to offer that we have not mentioned, we'd still love to hear from you! Here is a list of the current volunteer opportunities. Befrienders Would you like to make a friend, change a life! Then Befriending could be for you. Our Befriending service offers support and friendship to people living with mental ill health in the York are. We are looking for volunteers to give 2 or 3 hours a week to make a difference. The next training course will take place in July. York Design and Print Studio Volunteers Would you like to be part of a growing social enterprise? Our social enterprise provides work experience for people in recovery from mental ill health in a supportive environment and generates income for the charity. We require competent and reliable volunteers who can give from 3 to 12 hours per week to assist the Studio Manager in this exciting initiative. Events Team Volunteer Are you a creative and dynamic person? Would you like to join our new Events Team and help raise funds for York Mind. If you would like to be part of this exciting new project then please click here for more information. Volunteer Administrator Do you have administrative skills and can give 3 or 4 hours a week? We are looking for someone to offer admin support to our busy Advocacy Service. This role will be based at Tang Hall Community Centre. Please click here for more information about the role. Volunteer Mentor Do you have experience of supporting people with mental ill health? We are looking to recruit volunteers to join our Mentoring team, offering support to clients on a one to one basis, using the Mental Health Recovery Star. This role would require a commitment of around half a day per week. For more information please click here to see the role description. Volunteer Counsellors Are you a trainee counsellor? Would you like to gain experience as a volunteer working in a mental health charity? Our Counselling Service offers 1:1 counselling to people living with mental ill health or perhaps caring for someone experiencing mental ill health. You will need to be training to minimum Graduate Diploma Level on a BACP (or equivalent) Accredited Counselling Course. For more information about the role description please contact us.
