Our Celebration

Care when it counts... Supporting recovery from mental ill health

One in four people will experience some form of mental health problem during their lifetime

Welcome to the Volunteer homepage. This is where you can find out more about getting involved with the work we do at York Mind. Volunteers are engaged in a variety of roles throughout the organisation, for example, helping run the leisure clubs or working in the Design and Print studio. York Mind relies on volunteers to help deliver its services supporting people recovering from mental ill health.

Volunteers are a valued part of our team and we work hard to ensure that our volunteers have a rewarding experience. As a volunteer, you will receive a full induction, ongoing support and training. Our Volunteering Manager, Diane Benson, is on hand to offer support to all of our volunteers. We have regular volunteer meetings where volunteers can catch up with each other, offer support and share their experiences over coffee and cake.

Applying to become a volunteer

All prospective volunteers are asked to complete an application form. Following that, you will be invited for an informal chat with our Volunteering Manager and to see for yourself what we do at York Mind.

If you would like to find out more, contact our Volunteering Manager Diane Benson by email diane.benson@yorkmind.org.uk or phone 01904 643364.
